Camp House Fire (MNMNS)

Wildfire Status:

The Camp House Fire, which ignited on May 11, 2025, near Brimson, Minnesota, has rapidly expanded to encompass approximately 13,407 acres due to dry conditions and strong winds. The fire is currently fueled by a significant amount of dead timber, especially in areas afflicted by spruce budworms. As a result of the fire's aggressive behavior, including crown fires, at least 146 structures have been destroyed, leading to mandatory evacuations along Highway 44 and adjacent communities. Evacuation centers have been set up to provide assistance to those displaced by the fire, while road closures, including sections of Highway 44, hinder access to the affected areas.
