Apache Fire (CALPF)

Wildfire Status:

The Apache Fire is currently active in the Los Padres National Forest, with approximately 80% of its perimeter contained. Fire crews are diligently working to finalize containment lines and are in the process of removing hoselines, pumps, and other equipment used in the suppression efforts. This suppression repair work is expected to be completed within the next 2-3 days. As of July 30, 2024, management of the fire has transitioned to a type four incident management team from the Los Padres National Forest.

Despite the ongoing fire, Maricopa Highway (CA-33) remains open to motorists, who are advised to stay alert for firefighters and equipment in the area. Evacuation warnings and orders have been lifted, allowing residents to return safely. However, a forest closure remains in effect around the Apache Fire area, set to last until September 30, 2024, subject to change based on fire behavior and recovery efforts.
