Wildfire Status:

The Adams Fire, which ignited on June 2, 2024, at 5:20 p.m. in the Sonoran Desert, has burned approximately 5,029 acres. The fire is now fully contained with 100% of its perimeter secured. Firefighting efforts have included the deployment of multiple engines, air attack, one helicopter, and two super scoopers during the initial response. As of June 10, 2024, a Type 3 Central West Zone Team has been managing the incident, with plans to transition command back to local units soon.

Currently, there are 124 personnel assigned to monitor the situation, which has shown minimal fire activity in recent days. The primary objectives of the response teams include ensuring the safety of firefighters and the public, protecting surrounding communities and critical resources, and working collaboratively with local partners and property owners. Fire crews will continue to patrol the area and provide initial attack capabilities if new ignitions occur.

Weather conditions remain a significant concern, as extremely hot, dry, and windy conditions persist in the area. An extreme heat warning is in effect, emphasizing the challenges that firefighters face. Despite these harsh conditions, no movement outside the current fire perimeter is expected, allowing teams to focus on containment and monitoring efforts.
