Initial fire suppression efforts were complicated by overnight precipitation, which made locating the fire difficult. However, high winds the following day reignited the fire, leading to increased activity. Currently, two engines are assigned to the incident to patrol and monitor the perimeter, ensuring that the containment remains secure.
The fire is located approximately three miles north of Congress, Arizona. The incident command is led by Rich Jones from the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management. As of the latest reports, there are 10 personnel actively involved in monitoring the site. The primary fuels involved in the fire include pinyon-juniper, grass, brush, and shrub.
Weather conditions in the area are currently a concern, with a storm system moving through that has the potential for outflow winds, gusts, and extreme temperatures. These weather conditions can pose challenges to fire management, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance.
