Boulder View Fire (AZA4S)

Wildfire Status:

As of July 10, 2024, the Boulder View Fire, located approximately five miles east of Carefree, Arizona, is 99% contained, having burned 3,711 acres in the Sonoran Desert. The Central West Zone Type 3 Incident Management team has transferred command back to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management. Currently, an engine crew remains on-site to extinguish any lingering hotspots along the southeast flank of the fire and protect nearby structures. All other resources have been released, indicating a significant reduction in active firefighting efforts.

The Boulder View Fire began on June 27 and has been aggressively suppressed by fire crews. There is minimal fire activity at this stage, with only smoldering vegetation remaining within the established perimeter. The fire's containment efforts have been successful, allowing local authorities to lift all SET and GO alerts for the surrounding area, though residents are advised to remain cautious and heed emergency personnel instructions.

In terms of weather conditions, the region is experiencing hot temperatures in the 100s, accompanied by low humidity and windy conditions, which are typical for this time of year. This weather poses ongoing challenges for fire management, but no new growth is expected in the fire area.
