Wildfire Status:

The Bartlett Fire, currently burning near Bartlett Peak, approximately 60 miles northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada, has spread to an area of 6,169 acres. As of the latest reports, the fire is 50% contained. The incident, which originated on July 4, 2025, was sparked by lightning and has been actively managed by the Bureau of Land Management. Currently, 116 personnel are engaged in firefighting efforts, with a focus on securing the fire's perimeter and preventing reignition.

Fire behavior has been described as moderate, with notable smoldering and creeping activity observed in the surface fuels, primarily consisting of tall grass and brush. Fortunately, there have been no significant runs or torching reported, and the spread of the fire is largely slow and influenced by the surrounding topography. The forecast indicates minimal to no fire spread in the coming days, with the potential for continued low activity within the current footprint of the fire.

Firefighting crews are planning to utilize existing resources to mop up along the fire's edge wherever access allows, aiming to secure a depth of 100 feet to reinforce containment lines. With favorable weather conditions expected to persist, the projected containment date is set for July 7, 2025, as crews continue to work diligently to mitigate the risks posed by this wildfire.
